Kelly Blackmon
Southern Nevada Representitive
Kelly Blackmon has worked with the Nevada Fire Chief’s Association for over 25 years. She served as Secretary/Treasurer for almost 10 years and currently serves as the Southern Nevada Representative for NFCA. She holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Kelly began her career with the Clark County Fire Department in 1995 in the Administration Division where she worked with the Communications, Life Support, and Rural Divisions of the department. During this time, she also assisted with human resources and recruitments. In 1999, she was promoted into the Fire Prevention Division where she served as a Fire Inspector Trainee, Fire Inspector, and was a member of the Hazardous Materials Inspection Team. From 2003 to 2010, she served as Senior Management Analyst where she managed the department’s budget and grant financial activities.
In 2010, she was promoted to Deputy Fire Chief over the Fire Prevention Division serving as the Fire Marshal for Clark County. In 2012, Kelly was assigned to the Administration Division where she oversaw all administrative areas of the department including finance, human resources, employee assistance, peer support, and infection control.
Kelly has served as Senior Deputy Fire Chief since April, 2020, where she continues to oversee the Administration and Finance Divisions. In November, 2021, the Fire Prevention Bureau was transferred back to the Fire Department from the Building Department. Since that time, Kelly has again served as the Fire Marshal of Clark County overseeing the Inspection and Plans Check Divisions of the Bureau.
