Salary Range:

Position Summary:
The North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District (NLTFPD) is currently recruiting highly trained and motivated individuals with exceptional customer service skills who are interested in becoming a Firefighter/Paramedic serving the residents of Incline Village and Crystal Bay Nevada. The North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District (NLTFPD) is located in the northeastern portion of the Lake Tahoe Basin, on the Nevada side of the Lake. The district serves the communities of Incline Village and Crystal Bay, an area of approximately 16 square miles. The District’s Mutual Aid responsibilities cover an area of about 65 square miles. The area has a permanent population of approximately 10,000 residents; however the population more than doubles during peak winter and summer recreational periods. NLTFPD serves these areas from three fire stations. NLTFPD is considered an “All Risk” Fire District, responding to all types of emergency and/or public service situations.

Fire Fighter/Paramedic responds to emergency and routine alarms as part of a firefighting/emergency services team; lays hose; set ladders; ventilates buildings; provides on scene direction to team members while delivering paramedic level patient care as guided by district protocols; provides public education; assists in defensible space and prescribed burning programs; performs routine maintenance of stations, apparatus and equipment; assists in fire inspections; participates in drills and training; and performs other related duties.

• Firefighter/Paramedic candidates need proof of State of Nevada Paramedic certification or current National Registry Paramedic (must obtain current State of Nevada Paramedic prior to appointment) and maintain during course of employment.
• Must have current ACLS, PALS, ITLS or PHTLS, and CPR certification at time of hire.
• IFSAC or equivalent Firefighter I certification within one year of employment
• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Minimum of 18 years of age prior to application
• Possession of a valid Nevada or California Class C driver’s license prior to appointment and maintained during the course of employment.
